Advert bans

The advert for cream cheese with the two fathers and babies has been banned because one person complained it stereotyped males

What a load of cobblers !

Re: Advert bans

It is, however there is a trend for ridiculing men in ads.
They seem to be bumbling whilst women look on shaking their heads.
I don't know what the guys think of it, perhaps they like it.

Some arseholes also took umbrage at an advert displaying men having fun while a woman was tending to a pushchair, the implication being that women are stereotyped as carers.

The advertisements are a fuss over nothing...
John Humphries has been slated by some for taking the complaints lightly on the Today programme.

If the ASA want something to do they could get rid of those advertisements that insult the public's intelligence for eg the whole repertoire belonging to a certain comparison website..

Re: Advert bans

The world's gone mad I tell you! How long before there are complaints about one type of animal compared to another or even one type of food being unfair?

All too ridiculous for words I reckon!

I thought that ad was funny actually, they rescued the baby & he wasn't in any danger. Storm in a teacup comes to mind there.

Yep, Marge Simpson does similar every episode!
I think daftness makes men endearing.

Men and women are good at different things in general. I'd rather not do DIY (I used to be quite good at it, don't tell 'em).

Re: Advert bans

They should make themselves useful by banning Bank adverts.
They are the biggest bunch of lying, cheating scumbags on the planet. However, the ads say how caring and compassionate they are.

I used to be a debt advisor on MSE, and I can tell you for a fact they are nasty bastards.
