Just becuase the sperm seemingly remained fertile, it cannot guarantee the health or longevity of the lambs.
I can't help but wonder whether being born from old, possibly damaged sperm would lead to a life without health problems?

Mind you, having said that, if they are destined for slaughter, it will never be known whether they would have a normal healthy lifespan or not.

You mean like poor Dolly the clone ?
As you say sheep for slaughter have a short life lamb is only about nine months .
