Mp3 @ 320 and flac are surprisingly close in quality I find.

I take it, fender that you don't use any equalisation on your devices.

I used to before I realised that equalisation is only needed if there is anything wrong with the headphones, like they are too bass heavy or too bright, even then I would only use equalisation very conservatively, maybe to adjust a mid bass hump one set of my earphones once had.

My current head/earphones are all pretty neutral in their sound.

No, as you I rarely use equalisation.
I'm using Audio Technica closed headphones at the moment.
I may purchase a set of open ones though to increase the soundstage.

I love a wide soundstage and would like open headphones too, but I've already got 4 sets of headphones.

I've stuck with Sennheiser mainly. 3 of my sets are from them, but I do own the B & W PX which is probably my best headphone.

I used to own the cheapest Grados with the long thick cable and those phones were awful for me. Unweildy and far too bright sounding.

I've got this one plus a separate miniature speak which I use at work. I can't use headphones as they aggravate my tinnitus.
A great little thing although all the instructions were in Chinese when I bought it but I managed to figure it our eventually though!
