It looks like a mixture of cogs and interesting stuff made into a fantasy machine. Lots of Steampunks make contraptions like that, they sometimes actually do work.

I would love a clockwork orrery. The only ones I've seen for sale online, though, are quartz-powered. Sacrilege!

Go to Steampunk events, all sorts of gadgets for sale! There's a Steampunk Museum in Bristol, or there was, not sure if it's still there, that sells loads of interesting things.

It's a yarn or wool winder. The meter records the length of yarn wound and the bell rings at the length you have set. Here's a variation

I mentioned it in the post, you can set a required length and the bell rings when you reach it.

I think you'll find the Steampunk Museum at Cotham Hill has closed down Tess
