sleeping and cat napping

I must be getting old , In fact I'm getting just like my lovely mum, after lunch I fall asleep sometimes really deeply , other times cat napping . I go to bed around 11pm , read for half an hour and I'm out like a light waking around 7am ish , so I'm not short on sleep am I ?

Why , I wonder does this happen in later life or is it just me ?

So there you have it straight from the Docs mouth Susan.
Falling asleep like that is practice for when you pop your clogs.
How comforting!

Re: sleeping and cat napping

I find I have a nap if I stay downstairs to read/knit.
but I go upstairs every day to my craft room so I stay awake.

my hubby likes to read and always falls asleep in the afternoon.
I think it depends on what you do in your free time indoors.

I often need a nap in the afternoons. I go to bed and can usually grab an hour, if I'm really tired.

Susan it's called power napping, you must have a lot of executive decisions to make in your day,

Re: sleeping and cat napping

I'm glad I'm not the only one!
I wake up 6ish or a bit later, feed pets, go back to bed until 8.30ish have breakfast, take Floyd out, could quite easily have another nap.
Usually 2.30ish I'm back in bed for a nap of between one and two hours, get up and stay awake until 10ish.
I can't go a whole day without a nap!

I often have a cat nap in the afternoons (if Escape to the Country is on, it speeds up the process) but I find I always feel worse after a short sleep.

Re: sleeping and cat napping

If I nap at all in the daytime I can't sleep at night. It's a vicious circle...

Re: sleeping and cat napping

There are days when I simply can't stay awake, and need that nap.
