Desert Island II

What three people would you want to be shipwrecked with on the desert island?

Re: Desert Island II

I'd go for a boatbuilder, a sailor experienced in celestial navigation and a botanist familiar with edible wild plants!

Re: Desert Island II

I'll leave aside the obvious husband and two children - poor things - and go for well known 'other people' to maybe make the pst more interesting. I'm not sure I should wish my family to be shipwrecked anyway - they would be better doing their own thing here.

So. Somebody nice and practical. The man who 'invented' the wind up radio and torch, Trevor Bayliss. I'm sure he would make life much easier with his inventive and practical mind
On the same sort of thought pattern, a decent scavenger and cook. I couldn't cope with some of the master kitchen egos but I think Antonio Carluccio would be livable-with
And Micheal Palin, who seems one of the easiest-going yet clever and entertaining people I've ever seen. He'd keep us all amused

Re: Desert Island II

Dare one extend this thread to add the three 'things' aswell. I'll start with a solar powered notebook. Then a wind-up radio oh and a magnifying glass to get the fire going
