I'm not actually feeling the cold yet, it's the rain and dreary days that make it feel more like winter.

I've never understood why people have thought Mother Nature knows what the future will bring.

Bushes loaded with berries are a sign they have had a good spring and summer.Not a forecast of the weather to come.

Maybe it's because the evergreens and their berries show up more in winter when surrounded by the other trees that have lost their leaves.Their lush growth is less noticeable in summer.
