Impeachment of Donald Trump

Trump's upcoming trial will be the only one ever to have taken place after a president has left office.
Top Senate Democrat Chuck Schumer said on Friday that the House would deliver the impeachment article on Monday. Unless Democrats, who took control of the Senate this week, change the rules, it will mean Mr Trump's trial will begin on Tuesday.
"The Senate will conduct a trial of the impeachment of Donald Trump. It will be a full trial. It will be a fair trial," Senate Majority Leader Schumer said on the floor of the Senate.
Trump is the first US president to be impeached twice.
What is impeachment? Impeachment is when a sitting president is charged with crimes. In this case, former President Trump is accused of having incited insurrection
What has already happened? The House of Representatives voted to impeach Mr Trump for a second time on 13 January, shifting the process to the Senate for a trial - but that trial could not be carried out before he left office on 20 January
So what does it mean? A trial can still happen although Mr Trump's term has ended, and senators can vote to bar him from holding public office again

Trump is also the first President where 2 impeachments have both failed to remove him from office, the whole point of impeachment.The evidence is going to be interesting to see, when we get to see it that is. If Mitch McConnel votes to impeach Trump he can say goodbye to the Republican Party, Trumps new Patriot Party with 50-75 million supporters will take its place. We saw it here with UKIP (who split the 2017 Conservative Vote), the Brexit Party EU Parliament Election (where they came from nowhere to have the biggest single party in the European Parliament) and in the 2020 General Election where Farage stood down his candidates to allow the Conservatives a win.
There is a lot more to the USA than Hollywood and New York City.

You are vastly overestimating the number of Republicans who would leave the party for the Patriot party. Most Republicans I know were unhappy with Trump and said they had to hold their noses to vote for him in the 2016 election. The Republican Party has been bleeding membership and support by women, moderates, Latinos, college educated voters, and they are scrambling to get them back.
While it may make for a bitter pill for a couple of election cycles, most Republicans want to distance themselves from Trump and the radical arm of the party. Cut off the arm to save the patient, I say.

50-75 million Trump supporters for a future "Patriot Party"?
Not bloody likely. Tens of millions of Republican voters will stay with the established party.
IF, Trump is found not guilty in the impeachment, AND IF Trump runs again, AND IF he establishes a "Patriot Party" AND IF, he manages to get on all 50 states as a valid candidate, I predict that he will take a humiliating beating in any national election. That is one heck of a lot of "IF'S".
Make no mistake about it. There are, indeed, numerous fascists running loose in America. However, they are in the extreme minority. Most Americans are decent, democracy loving people who detest any thought of ultra-extremism, either left OR right.

But Trump isn't in office is he
he can't be removed from office if he isn't in office and if his impeachment fails it will be the same as last time. I wouldn't be too sure about all those democratic votes sticking with Biden either. The "anyone but Trump" vote won't work if Trump doesn't run in 2024.
Your also ignoring the problem of the hard left, antifa and BLM. Your doing what Biden is doing and forgetting that uniting the USA has to be done fairly on both sides.

A conviction in the 2nd impeachment would guarantee that Trump can not run for president again. A convicted felon can not run for president.
