Very good Harbal.
Perhaps there's also a moral in that for us all.

A Christmas Poem

Christmas is a coming
Bev’ll be getting fatter
But at this time of year
It really doesn’t matter
The turkey’ll be stuffed
With lovely sausagemeat
The table will be dressed
Looking good and really neat
I’ll be making roast potatoes
And also pigs in a blanket
The food will be aplenty
Rather like a banquet
There’ll be sprouts on our plate
After which we’ll be trumping
We’ll stuff our belly way too much
And end up like a dumpling
To finish we’ll have sweet
Of Christmas pud and custard
By now we’ll be feeling stuffed
Our trousers almost busted
After dinner we’ll sing carols
Squealing like a crazy cat
We’ll pull a Christmas cracker
Then wear a silly hat
We’ll tell pathetic jokes
And laugh like cackling hens
We’ll be pulling stupid faces
Down the camera lens
The beer and wine will flow
The eggnog’ll make an appearance
In time we’ll start to slur our words
Slowly becoming incoherent
Then off to bed we’ll go
To dream a happy dream
Of waking up tomorrow
For more Christmas pud and Cream!

Christmas Past.

Christmas was a time of joy,
Happy children, girl and boy,
Round the tree, it's lights aglow
In their eyes excitements show.
Sadly years went by so fast
They have grown, their childhoods past
Maybe Grandchildren some day will stay,
As my own on a Christmas day
Special memories will never fade away.

Sadly it wasn't to be, I never got Grandkids.
That was lovely, Tiffany, did it win? I have never tried an acrostic.

Re: Your Christmas poems

Ding dong! Deck the halls with holly,
It’s December– rush, rush rush!
Struggle with your Tesco trolley -
Don’t you just adore the crush?

We three kings, the dog, the baby,
Cram them all into the car,
If I hurry – perhaps, maybe
I’ll find time to hang that star.

Silent night, holy night,
Holy smoke! The cards, the cards ..
What to write -, “best wishes? Love?”
Or “yours, exhausted” - just “regards?”

Oh, little shop of trinkets,
How much we spend with thee,
The knick knacks never needed,
Mislaid, beneath the tree.

Lord, help us to remember,
To rein in all our vanity,
To step back from the rat race and
Keep sight of our humanity.

Take a breath – make time to wonder,
See the candle’s flickering taper,
And finally, dear readers, ponder …..

Where the hell’s that wrapping paper?

Re: Your Christmas poems

Just a one shot!

Left the Table,
A little tight,
The Bedroom Stairs
Are to the right.

But as I climb.
There is a lovely sight
With the dark sky
and the darkest night.

And through the glass
Out in the night,
A million stars
Which shine so bright.

My Mum once said,
And she was right
That each star there
When coloured white

Was once a friend
Some knew by sight
Now in their heaven
As is their right.

Remember them
With love, not spite,
And wish them all
A fond good night.
