We should be free to say what we want short of inciting hatred in ALMOST all cases bar two.

But Tory MP Zac Goldsmith hit back at the legislation saying Mr Yousaf’s actions were almost “unbelievable”.

He posted on Twitter: “This is among the most sinister political developments anywhere in the Western world.

“What Humza Yousaf is doing to Scotland is -almost- unbelievable.”

Re: Freedom of speech

Its only a matter of time that we lose our freedom of thoughts.

Sometimes we are made to feel bad if we don't conform to everything. The robots we are are all gonna be like a nation of stepford wives.

Isn't the range of different opinions what keeps people interesting and interested?

I dont expect anyone to completely agree with me in everything and I dont agree with some things some say . The world is taking away individuality and trying to clone brains to have one train of thought. I think its called brain washing , the media is guilty of this.

Obviously pushing an agenda, which must be resisted.

Their are reports that even before they open the left are targeting their advertisers to get them shut down through lack of money.

Good

It's great publicity for GB TV. I know Dan Wootton has left Talk Radio and got a regular slot with them so it should be brilliant.

Re: Freedom of speech

As often, people have different ideas of words and concepts such as freedom of speech. Just compare anti-corona demonstrators in western Europe with the Russian opposition against Putin. Although fundamentally different in nature, both refer to their right of speaking out.
And then again, certain people, though living in different but democratic countries, tend to understand the same thing by it.

In western societies it's usually those who are opposed to a system to varying degrees who complain about "censorship", "brainwashing" and a lack of freedom of expression. Ironically, even in the most heated debate when their very arguments are being discussed by both supporters and opponents they still argue that they allegedly can't speak their mind freely. How come?
Yet what they actually mean is that they themselves want to dominate a discussion, and what's more, don't want to listen to people who disagree. Counter-arguments are mistaken for an alleged lack of freedom of speech.

Re: Freedom of speech

Outside of what is legal and protecting children, censorship is what people do who are incapable of dealing with an issue or because (as Pixie described) they have foolishly allowed themselves to be offended.

Want to spew your hate or unacceptable ideas? Fine, but have the guts to show your face, and remember that your free speech does not protect you its the natural societal consequences. Good luck with the court of public opinion, as it can be a very brutal place.

These need to be modeled and directly taught: model civil behavior (self-censor), be a critical thinker, become a proactive problem solver, and never allow primitive-thinking extremists into your head to the point that you consider yourself a victim.

The reality is that censors, hate-mongers, and those who unjustly embrace victimhood are equally despised.

And they've got arseholes like Femi (some media nobody) stating that if his mobile phone company advertise on GB news, he will cancel his contract with them. A few sheeple on Twitter who follow him said they will do the same.

What an excellent way to get rid of these snowflakes in one fell swoop - take on adverts from all mobile phone operators and broadband suppliers and it will shut them up permanently.
