That was the point of the 'tea cup' issue raised by ArtT. My response was that if they jeopardise the Institution by bringing it into disrepute, normally based in small coastal towns where the local people know them, at what point is it offensive and should be acted upon ?

The RNLI are a tremendous organisation, everyone accepts that, although it would seem that many now object to supporting them due to the repercussion of the original post, ,but rotten apples need to be weeded out as in any other place . If they weren't, there would be uproar about that too.
It strikes me there are double standards. Support their offensive behaviour but refuse to donate because certain funds go to different programmes on the International level.

The material is hardly offensive at least not to normal people who are well aware of what takes place in the workplace across the world.

What IS offensive is donations made by people to a charitable organisation established to provide an emergency resource to BRITISH people in BRITISH waters being diverted to foreigners in foreign lands.

After all the clue is in the name. Royal NATIONAL Lifeboat Institution.

Do you not read anything properly. What is it that you don't understand ?
There are rules to be followed within organisations and schools and hospitals and the RNLI Volunteers etc. You shouldn't have raised the subject should you, but you simply wanted to add another anti and controversial RNLI issue to fan the flames ?

There are rules, and stupid inapropiate rules.

To expect the incredibly brave men who man OUR lifeboats to be paragons of political correctness is to expect the the entirely impossible and the totally unreasonable.

To waste the funding of OUR national resource is absolutely unconscionable as it is, but to add quite literally insult to injury is obscene.

And the rules are to be followed.

My friends son is an RNLI Volunteer, I know the Coxswain of our local Lifeboat and his wife , I know where they all socialise, and I know that despite being 'incredibly brave men' they would not agree to your view on what you term as the ' stupid inappropriate rules' .
