Do you feel/look your age?

A two part question there. Both mentally and physically. Older or younger?

Re: Do you feel/look your age?

Without sounding vain in any way I do look younger than my 54 years, certainly in a physical sense. That's the opinion of others mostly.

I keep myself very fit and my diet is pretty good, so I guess I've ended up in good physical shape so far. I'm heavily muscled and have little fat but it has to be maintained throughout the rest of my life and that gets more difficult as the years go on. I have knee problem which is worse when I don't exercise it enough, so I keep tabs on that. Keeping fit ensures healthy bones and ligaments so hopefully I'll remain fit for some years yet.

My hair is greying but my skin is still wrinkle-free. My eyesight isn't brilliant and my hearing is fading.

Mentally I'm getting more forgetful which is a slight worry so I need to keep my eye on that. I'm also finding it more difficult to learn new things.

But who knows when an illness can strike which we have little control over? I count myself lucky so far.

Ive been told I look younger than my 59 years. When my husband told my mom last weekend how old I was she was genuinely shocked. That Dementia thing has really kicked in.

On a serious note, my hair is mostly silver grey so looks old and my face has wrinkles . I have plenty of laugh lines since I laugh a lot but I take really good care of my teeth so they still look good. My parents still have ALL theirs at 85 & 89.

My body looks younger than my face which is probably why I decided to grow my natural hair colour in. That way people meeting me from behind arenít too shocked.

I'm always surprised by the old git looking back at me in the mirror.

Re: Do you feel/look your age?

I've lost my instruction manual - don't know how I am supposed to look/act at this age! Mother considered herself old at 60 - even referred to herself as 'an old lady'. Dad was boyish until the day he died at 80+.

Generally people are surprised when I reveal my age - they tend to think of me as younger - probably because I am never still long enough for my true age to catch up with me!

As long as I am still on the green side of the grass - I don't care!

Depends what folks use as a yardstick? There are some old looking folks running marathons, likewise, there are some young looking folks reliant on Mobility Scooters, spose it would be difficult getting from A to B on your face
