prescription iron pills

Has anyone been prescribed and taken iron tablets and what if any, reaction good or bad did they cause you thanks.

Yes, but many years ago.

I kept passing out when 16 and they found I had anaemia and hypotension.
I was prescribed iron pills and they really made me poorly.
I was constantly having stomach pains.

I stopped taking them after a while, but didn't tell the doctor.
Years later he said he could have prescribed an alternative pill.

I also used to find if I had anything with iron listed in it, I suffered terrible stomach pains.

They affected me and have been trying to find alternatives food wise anyone know something that has helped my prob is anemia (amongst other things)

I get over the counter Iron tablets 28mg, this works out fine, no after results. If you need iron you can have a iron infusion at the hospital, takes about 7 hours..but it brings you right up to date..
