Any Winston Churchill diehards still around??

Saving Britain perhaps was Churchills finest hour but there are many more chilling revelations of the 'real' man! This is but one of them!

Not to mention Churchill's deception and downright lies to Australia that Britain would send a fleet to protect Australia against invasion and his insistence that Australian troop return ing from the Middle East be sent to Singapore.

Churchill was a good war time PM, one cannot deny that, but he wasn't a particularly pleasant person by all accounts.

When I was two, in 1952, I was on a visit to the UK with my mother. Our train stopped at a station, there was a guy standing on the platform, who seemed to be attracting attention. My mother explained to me that it was Mr Churchill, a very important man.

He got us through the war, I think anyone who could do that had to be a bit mad...he was a man of his time.

He was nothing of the sort. Go ask the people of the East End, what they thought of him when he visited after a particularly vicious night's bombing from the Luftwaffe.
