I have the same one only in cream, but it has the Morphy Richards name on it. Had it quite long time, no problems.

That's a posh Teasmade.

Re: A new kettle please?

Thanks for your suggestions

I live on my own, so most of my kettle use is for cups of tea & coffee. Even on a minimum, it needs more than one mugful to work

In that case, the Breville one-cup thingy looks interesting
I've Searched t'Net and although you can get more complicated makes, this seems good enough
Most reviews are favourable, but a few report leaks & faulty switches; and that Breville's customer service isn't very good
But it's sold by Argos & ASDA, among others, who usually have a no quibble return, so I'll probably get one

I often use my kettle for washing up as it takes a while for hot water to find it's way from the central heating boiler, so I'll carry on with my existing kettle as a few black specks won't matter.
When it get's too bad I'll just replace it; but the replacement won't get anywhere near as much use so it should last much longer

Re: A new kettle please?

For coffee I just stir a teaspoon of Nescafe in cold water, add milk then give it two minutes in the microwave.
