Nah, he was starving, the survival brigade recon you'll never starve if you're near the sea, the trick is knowing what to eat.

Now anchovy haters - have you ever eaten proper fresh ones???? I thought I hated anchovies and then on a holiday in Sicily I had freshly prepared ones and they were lovely!

No I haven't, nor fresh sardines either. The Italian cooking show I watch was doing fresh sardines recently ...they did look very tempting. Although I love tinned. I'd at least try fresh anchovies.
