Remember this?

I loved this fairground ride but for the life of me can't remember what it was called!!

Anybody else go on it?

Watched it often but was too scared to go on it.
Another was the motorbike one where the rider went round and round almost coming out the top .

That’s what we used to call it.

The Health & Safety people would have a field day on this one!

Can just imagine it now – hard hats, parachutes, safety harnesses,
suitable padded clothing etc., etc.!

However, none of this would happen as the compulsory insurance
would cost so much it would not be viable!

It was my favourite ride. I got so used to going on/in it that when it was going fast enough for the floor to drop away, I'd turn myself sideways or upside down. It was called 'The Rotor'.

The first fairground I ever visited was as a young teenager on holiday in the UK. I can't say I enjoyed the experience, anymore than I enjoyed visiting a circus at the age of six also on holiday in the UK.

I recall the one with the motorcycle was called 'The Wall of Death'!

It was best to make sure that there was nothing in the pockets or make sure they were zipped up. No hats or handbags.

I was once opposite a naval officer who had gone on the ride. He had his hat and glasses on to start with. The hat and glasses came off and stuck to the wall near to him. I can still picture the expression on his face.

I wouldn't risk a ride in the rotor. It must be quite an unpleasant experience to vomit into a face mask.
I went on a Wurlitzer when I was eighteen, it must have been the longest couple of minutes of my life..never again!
