9/11

On this day... 19 years ago 246 people went to sleep in preparation for their morning flights. 2,606 people went to sleep in preparation for work in the morning. 343 firefighters went to sleep in preparation for their morning shift. 60 police officers went to sleep in preparation for morning patrol. 8 paramedics went to sleep in preparation for the morning shift. None of them saw past 10:00am Sept 11, 2001. In one single moment life may never be the same. As you live and enjoy the breaths you take today and tonight before you go to sleep in preparation for your life tomorrow, kiss the ones you love, snuggle a little tighter, and never take one second of your life for granted. —

How very true Muddy!

I was working for an Airline. at Manchester Airport, that day & many people shed tears over what had happened. I wasn't involved with checking the safety of the planes, but I remember that security became a massive issue at the Airport, yet terrorists are still threatening innocent people's lives

Re: 9/11

I remember I had been out for lunch with a pal...driving back home i put the radio on in the car i was in the mood for music so I skipped past stations talking and took no notice it wasn't till I got home and stepped out of the car a pal who was also a neighbour came running out saying how terrible it was. I had no idea what she was on about....i ended up in her house having coffee and catching up...what an awful day and whilst it was all happening I was sat having a pleasant lunch with a pal, I still feel a bit guilty about that.

Re: 9/11

A terrible day to remember and one I won't forget.

The news came in as I was preparing to go to work at 3pm so I went in early. Some of the girls in my house (in a boarding school) were US citizens and had parents working in the WTC.
It was awful waiting for news of family members which took hours to arrive, thankfully all were safe.

My neighbours son who lives and works in NY was on his way to work and saw the planes crash. He offered to give blood but as a Brit with BSE active in the population his offer was declined.

I still shudder when I think of that dreadful day...

My ex partner was at a conference in London. He rang me to tell me to put the news on. There were some American people at the conference who were due to fly home after the conference but they were getting messages from home, that something awful had happened.

I put the television news on and couldn’t believe what l was seeing.

Re: 9/11

I remember the nightmare unfolding right before my eyes as I watching TV. It was like watching a movie, is this really happening? First one plane then another crashing into twin towers.

Dreadful memory and still feels unreal to this day.

I only wish it were a nightmare, for the ones who were there and survived their lives will never be the same.

RIP to all the souls who died.

A day which will never be forgotten.

I was at my daughter’s house making a birthday cake for my granddaughter’s 1st birthday when SIL phoned to tell us to put the TV on straight away. We couldn’t believe what we were seeing, it was like something out of a horror film and that awful tragic day remains with us forever.

Religion of peace? Certainly. The peace that decends when all opposition or opposed views are totally destroyed.
