Don't be daft, it was an accident and you are entitled to claim. I bet the insurance company never said " What a decent chap, he never claims even when he can, so we will give him a years free insurance! You pay for this insurance, so you should claim it.

It's really not worth it.....I can get a new carpet for £500, my excess is £400 for contents claims.

Thats fair enough, but my excess on contents is only £100 so search for a new insurance company!

It was voluntary.
A cost cutting measure when there was only me in the house.
Now my son is back with all his expensive toys I may well reconsider.
