BBC Weather Forecasters

Why do male BBC Weather Forecaters use poor diction?
In particular, Matt Taylor talks to fast, and slurs his words making the forecast difficlt to understand.
With the high Salary they pay, why not employ the best?
Or is it favouritism?

Matt is a jock and like most jocks with their accents, slurring often occurs. He sounds much clearer on the radio when relaying the Shipping Forecast, unlike Susan Powell who often blends one word into another when doing the ships

That smarmy, scruffy bugger Tomasz Schafernaker gives me the real hump! Always looks as if he's doing you a favour by giving the forecast. I have to leave the room when he appears, trying to keep my blood pressure down!

Re: BBC Weather Forecasters

Some of the BBC weather forecasters are, apparently, failed business forecasters!

They have more available than we have toilet rolls.
