Nowhere have I said or even hinted at what you say.

You know I'm not a remainer so this obviously is you resorting to insult.
"Insults are the arguments employed by those who are in the wrong."
Jean-Jacques Rousseau

You might have been.
But it is only "might" since your understanding of what's involved seems to be very poor as has been pointed out above.
I and most others who sought Brexit along with so far approaching 28 million UK people who have been vaccinated would very probably disagree with you.
Being a remainer bears no insult Zaphod, it is merely having an
opinion? A minority opinion but still an opinion?
I don't believe you are a full blown remainer, your belief is more
a BRINO one ?
You are entitled to your opinion, but l beg to differ with you !
BTW, can you answer the questions l posed to Percy ??

Thanks for that Bread !
But what are the consequences for UK in 5•5 years??
I have been trying to work that out with my limited resources! 🤗
The only thing l can see is that EU can use that as a lever when we
have to renegotiate our fishing deal ??

Ah, now I see. I wasn't aware of that.

Firstly, as I understand it, we import electricity from France but only at certain times. At other times, we export it back to them. Unless I'm mistaken, this interchange of electrical energy is purely for convenience.

If I am correct, on that basis it seems that we have 5.5 years in which to put in place additional electrical generation facilities to make up the short-term shortfalls which occasionally occur.

How to do that, I don't know at least in such a short time frame. I assume that it isn't enough time to create another nuclear power station. Perhaps the government has some other ideas?

I sincerely hope that the government has something in hand, or we shall continue to be at the mercy of the EU.

This means that we are in fact £3B better off.!!
What if we end up having to buy that stuff from some other country; possibly at a higher price?

You're trying to provoke disagreement and you know it.
So do others.

Your beliefs are irrelevant in the scheme of things.
Mine are too BTW, no favouritism there.
It's what the British people think that counts when it comes time to vote, and it's there that I think you are going to be deeply upset.
Especially since the party you were hoping would do well saw it's leader quit.

I'm not answering questions you have asked other posters.
Especially when those questions are deliberately off-topic, and have been covered very widely elsewhere in these forums - leading in fact to threads being closed due to the ill-will the subject provokes.
Besides that, if you can't grasp after all those posts the reality of things there's little point going over old ground.

That's a lot of "if" 's.

The reality is that now that we're free of EU protectionism we can shop around for the best global deals free of their restrictions.

Hi

All trade involves protectionism.

China, USA and India and Japan are the worst.
