Re: 12yr old mum and 13yr old dad

You have to be able to trust them ? well not if you haven't instilled some discipline into them and made sure they are trustworthy. That is proper parenting. But this is neglect IMO

I agree. The word 'Morals' appears to have been dropped from the language !

Re: 12yr old mum and 13yr old dad

Well I hope she has another 4 years at school and this is not an excuse for her not to go to school. Education is what she requires and doesn't seem to have got any up to now. I also hope that the money she gets is
just the basic Child Benefit and not any extras like rent, food ect for herself.
Those parents who think she is great should be providing for her until
she can get a job. If not, then its all wrong and needs changing quickly.

p.s. Loved your thoughts on our language Audrey.
All I can say is we say that in Yorkshire but in my
day at her age I didn't even know babies came from
your tummy. I was told they came from the Stork.

If the grandmother is 27 then that explains it.

I honestly have no words for this. Well, I do, but they would probably offend a few people so I'll keep them to myself.

I agree Jim! When I was 12 yrs old, I doubt I even knew how babies were conceived.

Exactly. Children these days are beyond belief.

Not the children's fault though I blame the parents and our society for making it so hard for people to be home with their children when they need them and stay home long enough to do a decent job of raising them.

Re: 12yr old mum and 13yr old dad

It's not that unusual for a 12 year old girl to have a child I'm afraid. I remember a girl named Gay who's father was a vicar in the next town, she 'disappeared' for the summer and they had a baby brother when term started in the senior school.

It must be awful for any child to have its' parents continually spying on them watching for misdeeds.

You must treat your children with respect, love and trust.
Making sure they are trustworthy through fear or guilt is no way to rear a child.

Absolutely agree, but it is possible to raise trustworthy children without using fear or guilt as sticks or threats. It takes time spent with your children, though.
