what annoys me is the tinny sound from laptop speakers Why on earth they put crap speakers into expensive equipment beats me.
It's probably a space thing realspeed.
Flat screen telly's are the same.
The sound on our telly is abbismal! I've been considering getting a 'Sound Bar'.....Anybody had any experience of them?

Yes, there's a sound bar just down the road, singing and dancing at all hours, hardly anybody wearing masks!

I bought a Yamaha sound bar (YAS - 10 ) a few years ago.
I'm no audiophile but it does the job. It's probably archaic by today's standards but a vast improvement on the tinny little rear facing speakers on my idiot box.
they can put good speakers in headsets so why not in laptops?
The difference is that the speakers in headphones are immediately next to your ears. They don't need to be big.
Think about your ear drums. They are a tiny fraction of the size of large bass speakers and subwoofers, yet can pick up the deepest sounds (or you wouldn't hear them).

Matt Baker..country file
Possibly the blandest person on the planet, never has an opinion, never said anything controversial..I have experienced more excitement reading the instruction on a 2.5 Litre tin of Dulux Matt Beige paint
