Trick or Treat Banned

Hi

Banned in those areas under local lockdown, which is large parts of the UK.

We are not under local lockdown at the moment, but if it is allowed here I will just put some sweets outside and not answer the door.

It'll make no difference to me. I haven't answered the door at Halloween for 16 years, since I moved to where I live now.

Banned or not cannot see many parents allowing their children to go.

Round here, the kids still knock on the door, but their parents are, always, just in eyesight range behind them.

I guess it's no coins, no sweets, this year.

Maybe free face masks!

One of the worse things to be imported form America IMO
I think it’s a horrible custom .
Giving kids nasty sugary treats or else ?

Doubt many in lockdown would open their doors to strangers...
Another thing round here...a travelling circus has their posters in all the shop windows. How the heck they can follow the regulations Lord only knows.

Worse to me is, it’s a form of begging...blackmail even!

I agree Muddy thankfully we don't get it around here in this tiny village.

It always makes me shudder when I think of small children unknowingly knocking on the door of a paedophile . (We have had two incidences of 'elderly gentleman' being prosecuted for 'enticing' children in this area recently)

Surely parents would have enough sense to keep their children safe at home on Hallowe’en this year..

Fortunately we haven’t had any callers here for a few years.

We can do without legions of feral kids running around the streets in the dark demanding sweets.
