Re: Would You Pay Up? Or Refuse To Go?

No I wouldn't go, just make my excuses. It was bad enough being invited to a friend's wedding do and discovering it was a 'pay bar'. Bloody skinflints. I come from East London where if you have a party, you have a proper one, free of charge and plenty of food supplied.

No I wouldn't go. THat's $40 here. Just too much for somebody you hardly know. But I guess the person is more than a casual friend to many who are going and the organiser isn't discriminating. And if you are as casual to them as they are to you well they wouldn't care I suspect.

Casual folks aren't friends, they are acquaintances, give £19 to the sally army, cash better spent, then tell the friend to find another social structure.
