Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha!

Just heard on the news that made HWMO and myself laugh out loud.
It appears that because of the work being carried out in the buildings there are plans afoot to locate the House of Lords to YORK!! OMG, How are all those insignificant fogeys going to be able to turn up, sign in to claim their £400 attendance allowance and then get nurse to wheel them back home again. And what about their leisure time? Do they even have a Gentleman's club in York?

I wonder what the reaction will be having to move out of the bubble.

Is this just temporary? I heard it on the news this morning but assumed it was a permanent thing.

Well, there was a rumour that Boris wanted to get rid of the HOL altogether, so maybe this is his crafty plan to first rid them from the Capital and then keep them there or quietly get rid of them over time. Either way. they caused a lot of problems for him with Brexit, so it could be a case of ''Revenge is a dish best served cold'' Either will do, they are a waste of space anyway. Titles for the boys has no place in these modern times. Look at John Bercow? That old trot Corbyn has nominated him for a seat in the Lords! after Boris said never. Maybe this is way of saying if he wants a title, then he will have to commute every day to enjoy it

He's hoping that natural causes might finish them off. A lot colder up here.

Hi
A brilliant idea.

Moving vast amounts of Civil Servants up North would also be a good idea.

It might be time to put the gates back on the entrances on the bar walls....

He learned something during his time as journalist in brussels. The real power in one place, parliament in another. Like power in brussels, parliament in straatsburg.
Power in london (where else?) and half of the houses of parliament in old york.
Abolishing the HoC is next and rely only on those of scotland and ireland (wales).

Re: Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha!

Great idea - it will give them an incentive to sort out the problems of all the cancelled trains we have been experiencing on this train line in recent months.

On a good day, with no delays or cancellations, a 2 hour journey from Kings Cross to York is an easy, pleasant journey if you have booked a seat in 1st Class - but the return journey is around £200, so will cost them about half of their daily attendance fee.

To be honest, we got the best service after it was taken back into public ownership but it went downhill again when it was leased back into the private sector.
