Mixing Cement.

Its been a couple of years since I did this and I had forgotten just how knackering it can be. Mixing cement by hand then carrying it down the garden to lay 18" paving slabs. One more day will hopefully see it completed.

Why not hire an electric mixer? its only a few bucks and makes the job so much easier.

Re: Mixing Cement.

That's exactly why I bought a small secondhand mixer (Belle 150). It's still a lot of work loading it up and if necessary, barrowing the mix to the position it's needed.

Mine was a Baby Belle and very good it was too. If I knew how to post photos, I could show the patio I created.

Tried super glue instead? it is a lot lighter to carry.

Re: Mixing Cement.

Ah memories. Jenny hired this chap to lay some slabs in our Leeds days. As I left for work I reminded her to check he had a rubber mallet. I get home and the work was done-as well as 3 broken slabs. He didn`t have one.

Oh my, it is extremely hard work - I've only ever done small amounts but the mixing, carrying and applying is b***dy back breaking!!!
