Having a drug addict renting the house next to me I have
to smell a lot of Grass. Unfortunately it wont make a lawn.
If its wet the grass will grow anywhere. Great little plant

Grass cuttings Rachel

I planted some grass seed a few weeks ago to cover a bare patch where I had cut back a shrub as shown in the picture above . The grass has come up thick and luscious .
My neighbour planted some too, the exact same seed and it is patchy and sparse.

What I do went planting grass seed is to cut the lawn and sprinkle the cuttings on top quite thickly.

As the seed grows it 'lifts' the cuttings and the now brown cuttings can be gently swept away.
What the grass cuttings do is to prevent the birds eating the seed and they also act as a mulch to keep the growing seeds moist.
I also water the top of the cuttings daily with a fine spray.
