The only problem I can see with knitting some is the wool used is mostly 3 or 4 ply, in some cases I found ones for 2 ply. They must have taken an age to knit and so painful on the fingers!
Lots of the baby patterns are for quickerknit, which is halfway between 4 ply and double knitting, I'm not sure if you can still buy it and as I have none in that mountain of mine, I'd rather not spend money on it.
So I'll have to try to convert the measurements to suit double knitting for my great grandchildren.
I may need advice from my friends at Knit and Knatter club
I have quite a few of ex MIL's sewing patterns too, very stylish, I'll post some of those later.
Oh and some
crimplene, cream with gold pattern! Remember that fabric?
Gosh, that's a word I've not heard for a very long time.
I well remember it though!!
It was easy to work with, and didn't fray!
