Re: Lockdown confusion.

I take it to mean districts, I live in a big city which is made up of districts so I couldn't go to the next district to me.

If it's a village, then that village is your district.

I'm glad you are playing safe though.

I'm afraid I don't look at it the same way as you Mags.

My friend & I have agreed not to meet. We don't want to break any rules.

Just thought I'd mention it.
Carol, your post is a bit confusing. The new government guidelines say that exercise is restricted to your 'local area'. Now if you consider your local area to be 7-8 mile radius around your home, then travelling 6 miles to meet up with your friend to have an 'exercise walk', is well within the rules, based on your definition of 'local area'. Therefore how would you be breaking the rules?

Could your reason for not meeting up be because your definition of 'local area' is different to that of others?

Aw I don't think so!!

My friend is self isolating the same as I am. She lives on her own & sees no one outside her bubble.

We would travel in our own cars & meet in the open air & walk 2 metres apart.

I don't see how I could pick up a virus in that situation.

When I read online, that catching it outside is not impossible.....that was enough for me, I stay at home as much as possible, only shop, when I truly need something,......

I would presume 'my area' is within my own town or village only.

So the next town or village would be out of my area.
I don't think you can go by mileage, as each town/village is a different size.

Re: Lockdown confusion.

If they had said we were permitted to drive up to three miles to access open spaces that would have been clear but 'short drive' could be interpreted as anything.

I interpret 5 miles as 'short drive' but obviously that's because I want it to be.

Anyway, with no clear guideline we won't be going anywhere.

Thanks for your replies everybody.
