So excited about getting my new 'hybrid' bike tomorrow and start cycling again.

Can you give us a photo Rachel? Here's my jalopy. It was a bit of a job to fit mudguards to it because the bike is designed to be as light as possible. Managed in the end though.


If you plan to ride off-road, consider changing the tyres to 'Dutch Perfect' ones. Quite pricey and heavy but they never puncture. Might be considered well worth it if you ever have to stop and mend a puncture in the howling wind and rain.

That looks good ... nice sensible colour too

lol .. they didn't have the nice pink one in stock
But my bike has a bell on it and a pannier and mudguards


I used my old basket to plant summer bedding in and hung it on the outside of the shed

Makes me think of getting one. Lot cheaper than forking out forra car.

Make sure you get a good lock and chain for it and never leave it unmanned unless chained to something, as in if you pop into a shop.
