Yes, of course it's disgusting Moyra. Some people work hard and earn a pittance, others work hard maybe at first, then sit back and let everyone else knock their pans out, earning a pittance, but letting them earn billions. It does matter what business you deal in though............

Re: Billionaires

When people say we should all do it as if anyone could I always remember when we thought about starting our own cleaning company, when we looked at figure and costs etc we found we could only do it by using others and paying them a pittance. The threats from other companies were quite worrying too, I have no doubt we could have toughed it out and used others and be reasonably off now but we couldn't bring ourselves to do it. Only certain sorts of people can actually do it and I am really glad in many ways I am married to a man who can't use other people like that and that I am not able to do it either.

Have no problem with it either as long as they pay their way like the rest of us

Re: Billionaires

So long as they treat their employees with respect and let them earn good salaries, then I'm all for the big buck billionaires. Let other people enjoy their money too.

I never understand that we all have same things we can lose, and a poor person can starve if they lose whereas a rich person will never know that sort of poverty.

Re: Billionaires

In my own little pathetic sensitive, caring and compassionate world I do like to think that the billionaires choose to support certain charities. At least I sincerely hope so. Surely they're not that selfish and greedy?

I'm not so sure I watch very wealthy people appealing for our money for charities all the time when just one dip in their back pocket could likely give enough to solve that particular charities problems. They generously give their time but we stump up the cash and they get the thanks for it all.

They give proportionately less than the less well off it's proved and a fact.
