Re: Mr , Mrs, miss and now mx
Unusually I disagree with you Julie, if you want to be labelled that's fine, but not all of us do. I dislike being Mrs as I'm no longer married and don't feel I need a title, it's no body's business if I'm married, single, feel comfortable in my body or gas so why should I have to sit in a public place and have someone call out Mrs or Mx in front of everyone else drawing attention to it. What next? Names for gay parents to discriminate which is more motherly?Re: Mr , Mrs, miss and now mx
Re: Mr , Mrs, miss and now mx
Once, many years ago when my daughters were small, I ordered something on the old clockwork computer from Tyrrell and Green (John Lewis) and a drop down list of titles appeared, everything from Mr through to Right Reverend.Re: Mr , Mrs, miss and now mx
Re: Mr , Mrs, miss and now mx
Labels are by default discriminatory, as we all know if you have Lord or Lady etc. in front of your name you get different treatment than others. I'd be surprised if putting Mx on a job application would do any good. As it is you can't fill in a form on-line without filling in all the boxes or it flashes at you, so you already have no choice in keeping your status to yourself.
