Re: Surrogate mother

As I said the child. It's very unusual for it to be any thing else.

Re: Surrogate mother

While we're on the subject, they are wonderful people to do this
Not talking of the OP in question - but generally, such a wonderful gift to give someone

Re: Surrogate mother

Yes I agree Patsy, I have a friend who gave eggs it was not pleasant but she felt as she had children so easily it was something she wanted to do so others could have the joy she did. Wonderful women.

Re: Surrogate mother

Surrogacy is an alien world for me. I have friends who could not have children, maybe fostered or adopted, but surrogacy was of no interest to them. It takes a certain person to be a surrogate mother and an even more certain person to choose a surrogate mother. I can sort of imagine it if it were sisters, but other than that no.

Re: Surrogate mother

Well I can only say if it had been legal when we were losing babies I would have jumped at the idea.

Re: Surrogate mother

I could never do it in a million years, the reason is that my maternal instinct would never allow me to hand a child I had carried over, maybe using a donor egg would be easier as its not your biological child but nature has programmed us to nurture a child we have given birth to and in that respect it goes against the maternal instinct and many years of biological programming.

Re: Surrogate mother

Maybe the judge knows more about the woman than we do and decided she wasn't a fit mother so the child would be better off with the father in a loving environment.
Basically she was a single woman who conned a man friend into providing her with a baby.
Just playing devil's advocate here...

Re: Surrogate mother

I think that is probably what happened, the decision won't have been taken lightly, the child is not necessarily better with the Mother.
