Ballot paper

Went to give our vote this morning, there was actually a queue at 9 am !
Anyway, I found this odd. They took our details, gave the papers and we voted. As I was about to put the papers in the boxes, the woman said 'can I check the number on the back of your papers' She called across what they were.
My question is, does she know now who I voted for ?
Hope this is not a stupid question, just never happened before .........

Re: Ballot paper

Patsy I would say no she does not know how you voted, I understand to look is actually an offence for which you can be prosecuted .

I guess the number is just to keep a tally of the number of votes cast against the number of slips given out (to make sure no one adds in more than one) .
