the 'new' Egypt!

what an exciting story the new suez canal should be open by august - my -just around the corner but el presidento has decreed. What I found fascinating about this story is that the people who have built the new canal are the Egyptian army - if you want a job done quick get the army - if you want to run the country well chose the army!

but I do wish them well - it will allow two way traffic and make Egypt lots of money which it needs and hopefully get it back on the road to democracy!

good luck Egypt

That should be a badly needed shot in the arm when it's up and running, good for them.
What are they going to do with the old one?, maybe some rich Egyptian Yank will buy it and they can ship it over to the States just like they did with London Bridge.

All the very best for Egypt. They do need so much more money.
