Re: Food in hospital

I'm sorry but the food served where I was wasn't aiding anyone's recovery, most could barely eat it, the spices were so hot!

I'm a very plain cook and eater, the idea seems to have left the building there that anyone may actually just want a boiled egg with toast

Re: Food in hospital

Have been a hospital 'in-patient' on many occasions, the latest being in March this year. I have seldom had a complaint over the food I've been served and when I was in hospital over xmas (2011) I was served a full Xmas roast dinner with Xmas pudding and Brandy sauce too.

At our Hospital, the food is brought in and they put it in the microwave, some of it is ok, the rest is horrible.

Re: Food in hospital

I remember one Christmas where hubby was in the hospital and he called me to tell that he was having a turkey dinner complete with all the trimmings.

My dinner was frozen fish sticks.

Re: Food in hospital

I was in hospital a couple years ago for 7 weeks and I loved the food. I always ordered double of all the stuff I liked the most.

We have a great hospital here in Oakville.

Last time I was in hospital (2003) I opted for the veggie menu because all their meat was halal - which I will not touch.

[QUOTE=Julie1962;130314

As we all have to eat at home it didn't seem strange to me to pay for or provide your own while in hospital.[/QUOTE]

Absolutely agree. Hospitals are hospitals and not food banks. I cannot understand why charging a
contribution at least for the food consumed is not plain common sense. It's not as if the NHS can afford it.

Re: Food in hospital

Charging people would be an administrative nightmare, besides can you imagine people are there because they are ill not everyone gets sick pay so charging sick people to eat? I don't think so.
