You missed your chance to broaden your knowledge. Every year during christmas time The sound of music is broadcast. You know, about that captain of the austrian navy (austria is the neighbour of switxerland). Those countries had have a navy, fishing boats etc. The world is more complicated than you think donks.

Hi

If we are to take back our Fisheries we need to start building fishery protection vessels and training staff now.

You mean those rules that are centuries old? British are notorious for not being able to handle change. So good luck with that.
Not worried so much about the weight Solly, nbut more about the
species and the size of the fish??

I agree Swimmy, maybe we can station one of our aircraft carriers
loaded with helicopters out there. LOL.

You can take a sample out of a frozen block. You can open up a can, just as you can pick a fish from a barrel.
But of course before freezing they can throw back fish too small or wrong species, like the british fishers do?

You can Solly! But do you do?
Also if you open a can it is difficult to identify anything inside with
all the tomato sauce and preservatives mixed up in there, you
need a DNA test to get an identification??
Also can you tell me, what is the point of throwing dead fish back
into the sea if they bring the catch over quota?
How does that help maintain fish numbers??

It's wonderful what science can do these days.
Just watched an open university program on fisheries on the bbc. Rather interesting.

Since when do fishers catch dead fish?

Re: Super Trawler invasion!

For anyone interested there's what appears to be a very interesting series on BBC2 about the fishing industry in Cornwall. I've just watched the first of the series, showing some very good examples of how difficult the fishing industry is nowadays. It's on iPlayer, see the link below:
