Re: Is anyone bothering with the election?

We vote for the candidate of our choice. I think most do it based on the party the candidate represents and whichever party wins the most seats is in power and a PM is selected from that party. We all know that. Democracy.
Or is it?

If your chosen candidate wins he takes his seat in Parliament. Regardless of what his own view is on any issue put to the vote, he will have to vote along his party line. Even if it is the diametrical opposite of what he stood for in his election campaign.

How can that be remotely construed as democracy??

Correct and as I posted in other threads.

Our democratic system is good in theory. However with the advent of Party Politics it has been totally subverted.

The establishment has conditioned the electorate to only consider the mainstream parties (who are all really just Establishment parties). So people just bicker about Tory vs Labour vs Lib Dems but the reality is they are all the same, all serving the same unseen unelected masters.

The Party system has subverted our democracy as you highlight. Whoever you vote in has to abide by the wishes of the party leaders and the higher echelons. That is not democracy. It is fake democracy

We COULD all of us rid our country of that situation overnight.

If we ALL voted for independent candidates, who were not Con/Lab/Lib then we would in one fell swoop rid parliament of all Tory, Labour and Lib Dem seats.

It would be unheard of.

But that's how our democracy is supposed to operate.

We are supposed to vote for local people who will support their constituency and have their own mind.

Sadly the Establishment own and control all media channels and thus nobody can reach the millions of people to educate them and convince them to not vote for Con/Lab/Lib.

So every election we simply vote the establishment back in and thus they continue to mete out their agendas, which include destroying the sovereignty of this country and putting us into a dictatorship run effectively by Germany and France.

It is WW2 being conducted by stealth and skulduggery.

Now that Farage has seen how Boris has failed to reciprocate his generous offer to withdraw candidates from traditional Conservative constituencies, perhaps at the next opportunity he could decide to stand in ALL constituencies.

Subsequently, all people who want Brexit without any compromises should vote for the Brexit Party at the next general election.

Moreover, when it is discovered that we are still, to all intents and purposes, under the complete control of the EU there is likely to be a renewed and probably more widespread support for a complete Brexit as offered by the Brexit Party alone.

We need to end up with BRILLO, that is the only way to clean the slate.

Yes he may plant 2 billion trees but how long will it be before someone comes along and says "This lot will have to come out, we want to build a thousand houses here"
