The EU is a failed economy - why do you want to pay billions of pounds a year to get access to their markets ? We trade more outside the EU than in it....

I'm sorry donkeyman. I've been reading most of your post. I have the destinct notion that it is your mental faculties that have given up some time ago. But to answer your question, it is one of two possibilities. Either the likes of bread are right and the effects of brexit are shallow and short lived and life will soon continue as before. Or oldfogey and itsme are right and the medieval black age will return. In the latter case there will be a price to pay. Both by some intern in the UK as well as by the whole of the UK in international terms.

It seems you are researching the subject. You should look a little deeper and ask yourself not only how much is traded, but also what. If your exports to the EU stop, will other parties want these products too?
You will find out that many of your products are produced at a costprice that makes them non competitive. It is the system of the EU that enables the UK to export these products. That systems keeps a large part of the UK economy afloat.
