Haven't seen it this year but some years whole fields around here are covered in glistening cobwebs and they look like the sea from a distance

That's only a section/close-up of quite a big field showing the same. It was the dew making the webs show. We walked back across more or less the same route a bit later in the day and the webs weren't so apparent.
