How the Dutch cope with Winter

And we thought we got bad ice

Recently when ice covered most roads, people were asked to stay indoors and many public facilities were closed.

With not a Gritter in sight what did people do..they enjoyed themselves

It was nice to watch but I'm grateful for the gritter.

Imagine the broken, fractured bones at Casualty.

In Germany they have a name for loosing your footing on the ice, The Egg Dance, lol ...

Thanks for the links Cass. Do you think we would cope better here if it looked as pretty as it does in Holland

I suppose its much like any other country it has good and bad bits...
As for the 11 city tour they do it on bikes..Oldimes and motorbikes, 3,500 motorbikes from all over Holland and beyond take part.. My OH and son have both ridden it..
They say the atmosphere is great.
