North and South
Wonderful series, it was screened in episodes 10 years ago on BBC, you can now buy it on DVD's in a boxed set, there's book one which has three DVD's lasting 3 hours each, then there's book two which lasts the same.It's the story of two families in America, one from the north and one from the south, the two lads from each family go the West Point Military Academy then fight together in the Mexican-American war over Texas,. . then a few years later the fight in the American Civil war on opposing sides.

You can buy the whole set very reasonably at the moment, . . I got it 6 years ago and it's one of my favourites.
