What music were you conceived to?

I wonder, hmmm ... My mother was an opera singer, my father liked cowboy movie music. And he had a "run rabbit run" 78.

What were your parents grooving to in year dot?

Probably "She'll be coming round the mountain etc" or maybe "Out of nowhere".

Re: What music were you conceived to?

My Dad was a drummer with a dance band, so Glenn Miller would have been popular with him. Syd Lawrence, Joe Loss, and Duke Ellington were also some of his favourite big bands judging by the amount of albums he later collected.
Mum was more of a 'Musical' girl with Oklahoma, South Pacific and 'An American in Paris' with Edmund Hockridge, but she later lost her heart to Matt Monro, Ole Blue eyes and Mario Lanza......

I was probably conceived to 'Nessun Dorma'......

Re: What music were you conceived to?

The only music available at the time was my mum playing the piano, it might have caused difficulties.

It must have been "In the Mood" - Glen Millar
