I'd be willing to bet that they were equipped with adult diapers. Not a pleasant thought but necessary under the circumstances so as not to embarrass Her Majesty and the Duke.

Re: Jubilee Overkill

I was pleased to read today that although he is still in hospital, Prince Philip is feeling better...

Re: Jubilee Overkill

I watched most of it,I said oh dear she looks grumpy today, then it was said Philip was ill. What a shame. The following day it was at St Pauls and I felt so sorry for the Queen as she looked like a lonely old woman, so sad.Tonight she was smiling on the news as she left hospital so he must be improving.

Re: Jubilee Overkill

Time they pensioned the pair off and let them 'retire' to Sandringham, then we can change the system and have a true democracy with an ELECTED head of State.

Fair enough Annie darlin' - we'll banish her to Sandringham and she can pop her clogs there, while we get on with building a true democracy devoid of all the obsequiousness and servility surrounding the monarchy and the aristocracy.

All the servility is nothing more than pomp and ceremony these days.
The queen is loved and respected in her own right. She has given her life in servitude to her country.
So who would you like to see the monarchy replaced with?
God forbid a posturing president. We have enough political puppets as it is.

Re: Jubilee Overkill

Fair enough Mall darlin', since a President will be merely ' figurehead' - what about Prof Richard Dawkins as a non-executive President??? Failing which another name comes to mind - Dennis Skinner???
