Little Things sent to try us.

When I got up this morning and pulled the curtains back I happened to trip and my walking stick knocked against the side of the television. Just a slight tap, but sufficient it seems to have 'blown' one of the circuits as it ceased to function

So have had to lay out £230.00 on the purchase of a new television (the old one was less than 18 months old).

Oh dear Uncle Joe. Perhaps you could take it into a little TV repair man (if there is one handy) - it might only be a smal part needs replacing, or are all TV's Kaput and finished once something goes wrong?

Sorry about the demise of the tv Geoff. If it's only a circuit board it could be fixed...but it's finding someone who doesn't charge the earth!
How about the house insurance?

It may be that you have dislodged an internal cable or a circuit board connection somewhere. Unless it has a mild impact or a floor drop I can't imagine it has done serious damage and you may find someone who could open it up and give everything a good wiggle to bring it back.

The problem with TV's is they are regarded as disposable goods. They are not worth the effort of diagnosing or replacing individual components, its easier and cheaper to throw it away and buy another.

That was a bit of hard luck Joe, but you're working ok, and that's the main thing.

Do you have accidental insurance cover on your house insurance? That would sort it.

Sorry to hear about your TV. Hope you are alright.

I think it's like everything else nowadays Shaz, when it breaks you just throw it away, but I dont think they guarantee it when it gets a knock.
