I need to know how stuff works Muddy, I suppose that's why I became an engineer.....Even now, I have to try and figure things out..........Not people though, they just confuse me.....Mainly mechanical or especially electrical...

I do like to ask questions when I know they will be welcomed but I like to think I'm not too nosy. I'd hate to think I asked questions of people who didn't want to answer them as that's just awkward. I am always looking up words and meanings etc just so I know what they mean. I read quite a few american novels so I often find myself looking up foods or clothing etc and find we have them too just by another name.

I grew up firmly believing that my Nanny and my Godmother knew everything - because they both had the same stock reply to questions - "Try to find the answer for yourself, child. If you really can't, then ask me again tomorrow and I will tell you." and if I could not find the answer they always did tell me the next day.

It was years before I realised the both of them probably stayed up all night reading the encyclopaedia!

I have always been a bit like that Foxy. I was always taking my toys apart when I was young, then I moved on to cars and then anything in general. I always ended up with a few nuts and screws left over though that I would keep in a safe place incase I ever worked out where they went. I still dismantle things but the left overs are increasing.

I suppose if it still works, it's not important.
