Thanks all. And keezoy, yes it's still a prison: for how much longer, I don't know. The gatehouse and blocks are listed, so it will be interesting to see what happens to it ... a themed hotel?

Good photos d00d It looks a foreboding place.

If an image search is done for Wormwood Scrubs, it doesn't look such a dark building ..although it still has that Victorian solid look and I wouldn't like to reside there.

It's a bit brighter and whiter inside.

You have really captured the scene with your B&W pics, well done. It may be a grim place but it is a necessary place.

Great shots as usual Chap.

There is some fantastic old brickery and stonework about if you bother to look up when you are out and about. So many people miss arts and crafts right over their noses.
