Horse exports to Japan !!

Canada is exporting live horses to Japan for the horse meat sushi
trade they are crated four horses to a crate and flown on an 18hr
flight from Canada to Japan, where they are held in a feed lot to
fatten them up before slaughter !!
And it's not only old nags they send either, horses as young as two
years old are used as well!!
So it seems they are bred just for this trade ??
It was reported that one horse kicked its way out of the crate
and damaged the aircraft before it died??
Bloody hell !!
I never heard of horse sushi before??
Since 2013 thousands of horses have been treated this way !!

It's not really different to eating any other meat, something has to die.

Wasn't there talk about banning the export of live animals a while back?
I don't know enough about it, but I do remember reading something.

I really cannot see the necessity to export any livestock, not poultry, cattle, sheep or anything else. These countries that want it should by law, have to raise their own or go without.

The shock and fear these animals must feel is beyond measure.

I don't think we have much control over what Canada does.

The whole thing is beyond disgusting and I, for one, am glad the horse ruined the aircraft.

I don't care what country it is Ray. Live export is live export and should never be allowed.

What about that cargo ship - was it a year or two back - that sunk, drowing all the hundreds of live animals in their crates on board. They didn't stand a chance all crated up.
It's a vile trade.

If 'something has to die' as you say, there is still no need whatsoever for it to be terrified, tormented, and suffer long journeys locked in crates with other terrified aniamls, first!

OMG will this disgausting trade in suffereing never end ?
Like Mups said there is no need whatsoever to export living sentient creatures to their deaths .

I am surprised at the Canadians usually so full of their own goodness are allowing this to happen.
