My son and his kids use theirs extensively, I have the great joy of changing their music to Led Zeppelin or Captain Beefheart when I visit

I must admit that there have been occasions when one of my grandkids has unplugged the device however my son does like Led Zeppelin.

Well at least you have one of the family who approves of your choice, that's something. All too often music the older generation likes is not the choice of those who are younger, that's life though.

One of my grandchildren is really into music, making her own that is. The latest acquisition being an electric guitar and learning how to play it. I sent her a YouTube video of Hank Marvin and The Shadows, she thought that was 'cool'.

Re: How many 'smart' devices in your home?

'Smart' seems to mean any item connected to the Internet' for one purpose or another. A smart TV gets programmes or films via the Internet. That's probably not all that smart for these days. I think phones are smarter because they can run all sorts of applications that do things via the Internet. MapMyWalk (or ride), Bus Checker, NHS app etc,. On the other hand, computers or tablets don't have the 'smart' tag even though they can do a lot of what smart devices do.

I have a number of devices that fall into the smart category:

Two phones (one each).
Six TVs (four 'smart'). One in all rooms barring the bathroom.
Two Amazon FireTV sticks that make two non-smart TVs 'smart'
A printer that communicates with HP for instant ink.

All devices connected via the wi-fi router as is usual. The router's password is a strong one (more than 12 characters).

It never even occurred to me to regard my printer as a smart device!
